SPRAR Project

The SPRAR Project “Sistema di protezione per richiedenti asilo e rifugiati” (Protection System for those requesting asylum and refugees) . The ONCR is partner of the V Department of the Comune of Rome, beneficiary of the financing. The Project foresees a series of services in favour of vulnerable under age youngsters, inserted in various institutions of the Commune of Rome.

With a Determinazione Dirigenziale n. 1654 of May 4th 2009 to the ONCR has been appointed to the activation of professional laboratories fit to favour the formation and the insertion into the working world of the beneficiaries. The appointment regards a two years’ period 2009-2010. The formative program proposed by the ONCR foresees the beginning of 7 courses for pizzeria/bread making. Up to now 29 students have been formed. 18 are being formed now. At the end of the project 65 youngsters should be qualified.


Zefiro Project

At the beginning of 2004, to endow the orientation Centre of ONCR of specific economical resources, the Zefiro Project has been elaborated, which has traced the guide lines to start the orientation activity in “Città dei Ragazzi”. The project has obtained financing from the TIM Foundation, which has endowed a contribution of Twenty thousand Euros to the ONCR.

The orientation service inside “Città dei Ragazzi” started in 2004 thanks to the Zefiro Project, has contributed in having the youngsters make autonomous and fully aware choices, facilitating the construction and realization of individual educational projects, aimed at the harmonious development of their personality. The orientation path accompanies every youngster from the beginning up to the time they leave Boys’ Town, giving them instruments and indications to make choices aiming at achieving personal and professional success.


Open Horizens

The project “Orizzonti Aperti”, financed by the Vodafon Italia Foundation, who has endowed to the
ONCR a contribution of 134.000,00 Euros, has involved 50 young immigrants, guests of Boys’ Town of Rome or subscribers of its services. They have been inserted in three professionalizing courses (waiter, upholsterer, carpenter) it is a specialization course of the abilities so called transversal (multi professional course), which has involved youngsters who already had contacts with the working world, but need to strengthen some competences to continue working. Each course has been structured in a modular way with a specific part to professionalize and some hours of Italian language, computer and orientation.

The 50 boys destined to the formation belonged to thirteen different Nations (Polonia, Romania, Perù, Colombia, Ex Iugoslavia, Afghanistan, Russia, Moldavia, Marocco, Albania, Bangladesh, Sudan, Nigeria). Up to now, 4 years from the conclusion of the project, all the boys are still working.
